Lockplate marked with the {US Eagle} followed by U.S., but the SPRINGFIELD marking is nearly obliterated with only the serifs on the lower edges remaining. Breechblock is marked MODEL/1873/{Eaglehead/Arrows}/US. Left barrel is marked V/P/{Eaglehead}/P. Buttplate US initials are obliterated. Item comes with a reproduction leather sling.
