Breechblock is marked 1870/{Eaglehead}/US. Counterpane is struck twice with the ESA cartouche of Erskine S. Allin, the originator of the breechblock used in this rifle. A third cartouches read SWP for Samuel W. Porter, whose cartouche often appears on Allin conversion rifles. Rifle features a high arch breechblock, spring-loaded firing pin, two click action, and a smooth trigger. Comes with a cleaning rod and reproduction sling.
