Lot of Two Civil War Carbine Cartridge Boxes
American Civil War
1.) 8" wide. 2.5" deep. 4" tall. Black leather cartridge box with inner flap showing maker marking E. GAYLORD/CHICOPEE/MASS. Item features slots to wood block for 20 cartridges. Item mounts two belt loops retained with brass fasteners, tie down strap with brass stud, and two angled buckles.
2.) 8.25" wide. 2.5" deep. 4.5" tall. Black leather cartridge box with outer flap struck G.T.WOODBURY/U.S/ORD.DEPT/SUB INSPECTOR within circle to right corner. Maker mark to the inner flap reads W.F. WILKINSON/SPRINGFIELD MASS. Wood block features ports for 20 cartridges. Item mounts a tie down strap with brass stud, angled buckles, and twin belt loops.
