Lot of Two U.S. Pattern 1861 Cartridge Boxes with Plates (One Broken Sling & Breast Plate)
American Civil War

Two US Pattern 1861 Cartridge boxes with tin magazines and mounting brass US plates to outer flaps. Inner flaps are unsigned, and both examples feature angled buckles, tie down straps with brass studs, and twin loops to the rear face. One example retains a shoulder strap that has broken off on one side. Strap retains a brass breast plate featuring the {US Eagle} looking over its left wing and clutching three arrows and an olive branch.
