Lot of Three U.S. Civil War Period Canteens
American Civil War

Lot of three Civil War period tin canteens, including two Pattern 1858 and one Pattern 1862 canteen with corrugated sides. All items of soldered tin construction with pewter spouts and cork stoppers. The 1858 canteens both mount metal chain retainers for the corks. Canteen with no cover mounts leather straps. The covered 1858 canteen features a wool cover with shortened cotton strap stamped GEORGE BOUR with the remaining mark illegible. Final canteen is of the 1862 pattern with shortened cotton strap, a wool cover, and stopper without retaining cord. All items measure approximately 10" high and 8" wide.
