Remington Transitional Model 1861-1863 Army Revolver
American Civil War

.44 Cal. 8" barrel length. SN: 11459. Brown patina overall with brass triggerguard, octagonal barrel, German Silver front cone and topstrap rear notch sights. Single action six shot percussion revolver with replaced cylinder pin. Item features a solid loading lever without the early Elliot pattern cutout. Barrel mark reads PATENETED DEC. 17 1861/MANUFACTURED BY REMINGTON ILION N.Y. Bottom of the right grip panel has been hand inscribed Blair. Serial numbers on the barrel and frame match. Item shows scattered single initial inspector marks including H A on the left barrel and frame, and H on the triggerguard. Loading lever retaining stud appears to be a period replacement, lever fails to engage the stud, and the revolver additionally features a replaced cylinder pin.
