Leman Percussion Altered U.S. Model 1828 (1816 Type III) by Evans
American Civil War
.69 Cal. 41" barrel length. SN: NSN. Deep brown patina forming overall with walnut straight wrist stock mounting a full length handguard secured by three barrel bands. Single shot percussion smoothbore musket with brass blade front sight secured to the upper barrel band, and a bayonet lug to the upper barrel. Lockplate dated behind the hammer 1830/US and marked forward of the hammer with W.L. EVANS and V.FORGE. Item features a conversion breech filling out the original cut for the pan. The buttplate is struck US. Comes with steel cleaning rod.
