An accompanying mark on the barrel rib reads JOHN WURFFLEIN PHILADELPHIA. Barrel maker mark reads E.BERNARD/CANNONIER DE PARIS with {Crown/EB} stamps below both breeches. Lockplates feature bank note scroll engraving of {Pointers in Thickets} below maker marks enclosed by spiral scroll engraving at the forward and rear ends of the lockplates. Hammers feature spiral scroll along the flanks with fishmouth engraving on each hammer. A gold escutcheon to the wrist is engraved Thomas B. Rayner/1867/Veterinary Surgeon. Item comes with a wood ramrod with brass tip, and comes in a wood box with green felt liner with nameplate to the lid marked S. Setchell.
