.69 Cal. 42" barrel length. SN: NSN. Brown patina overall in varnished walnut straight grip stock with full length handguard and mounting front blade sight affixed to the barrel. Single shot flintlock smoothbore musket comes with an iron ramrod and furnishings. Item features three barrel bands with sling loops to the middle band and on forward trigger plate. Lockplate is marked S.CT forward of the cock, and mounts a replaced frizzen spring. Touch hole sits low in the pan suggesting the latter has been replaced or refitted. Barrel shows some irregular pits and surface suggesting it may have been rebuilt to flint. Barrel is marked S. CT S.I. 1813 with P and M initials partly hidden by counterpane. Stock has rounded edges indicative of sanding at some point.
