Curved single edged blade with double fullers and 7" false edge mounting brass guard with two branches off the knuckle bow, Turk's head pommel, and leather wrapped grips with wire bindings. Right ricasso is struck U.S/D.F.M./1864 with the left displaying maker marking EMERSON/&/SILVER/TRENTON/N.J. Pommel further struck DFM next to the peened tang. Item comes in a bright finished unmarked steel scabbard.
