1862 Dated Ames U.S. Model 1860 Naval Cutlass
American Civil War
26" blade length. 31.75" overall with hilt. Curved single-edged flat backed blade with brass hilt featuring Turk's Head pommel and riveted brass cup. Right ricasso is stamped U.S.N./D.R/1862 while the guard is stamped 21M/601. Item features a leather wrapped wood hilt bound in braided wire, and is without scabbard.
