Lot of Five Civil War-Era European Imported Socket Bayonets
American Civil War
1.) Austrian Model 1854 Lorenz Socket Bayonet. 18.75" quadrangle blade, 3.15" socket with helical mortise cut for a top stud and a locking ring.
2.) Prussian Model 1809 Potsdam Socket Bayonet. 19" blade without face flute, 3" socket with eccentric rim at rear to engage locking latch.
3.) Commercial British Pattern 1853 Enfield Socket Bayonet, likely Belgian contractor made. 18" blade with 16.5" face flute marked J.G at ricasso. 3" blued socket mortised for a top stud with a locking ring.
4.) Belgian Model 1853 Socket Bayonet. 20.75" blade with 19" face flute, 2.65" socket mortised for a bottom stud with locking ring. Belgian touch mark on ricasso and rack numbers on shank and socket.
5.) French Model 1847 Socket Bayonet. 18" blade with 16.25" face flute. 2.65" socket mortised for a bottom stud with locking ring. French touch mark on ricasso and inspection marks and rack numbers on shank.
