Lot of Three Civil War Import Socket Bayonets Including: British P1853 and Austrian M1838
American Civil War
1.) British Military Pattern 1853 Enfield Socket Bayonet. Marked E/{Crown}/25 on the ricasso. Blued 3" socket mortised for a top stud with a locking ring, bright blade 18" blade with 16.25" face flute. Rack numbered 29/200 on the upper rear of the socket. Includes a War Department marked post-1861 brass mounted leather scabbard rack marked 29/196 on the frog hook.
2.) British Commercial Pattern 1853 Enfield Socket Bayonet. Weak R&W Aston mark on the ricasso, with BSAT inspection and likely Liege maker initials. Blued 3" socket mortised for a top stud with a locking ring, bright blade 18" blade with 16.25" face flute.
3.) Austrian Model 1838 Socket Bayonet. 18.75" quadrangle blade, 3.15" socket mortised for a Laukart latch. No visible markings. For Austrian Model 1838 and Model 1842 Muskets.
