Lot Description

American Militia Light Artillery Saber ca.1810-1840
Seminole Wars - Mexican-American War

29" curved, single-edged blade, 1.25" wide at ricasso. 33.5" in overall length with a 4.375" brass bird's head pommel with reverse-P knuckle bow. Upper guard with forward swept disc quillon, .95" langets on each side of blade at hilt. Cord wrapped wood with leather wrap. Unmarked. Sword is accompanied by a brass mounted leather scabbard missing the drag and with two suspensions rings. An unrelated chain is attached to the rings.
