**Japanese Type 99 Last Ditch Arisaka Rifle
World War II
7.7x58mm. 25.9" barrel length. SN: 59350. Blued metal finish over rough machined and forged parts set in roughly finished semi-pistol grip stock with spliced toe and wood buttplate retained by nails. Bolt action repeating rifle fed by an internal box magazine charged with stripper clips and mounting fixed rear aperture and barleycorn front blade sights. Left receiver displays the marking for {Howa Jyuko} manufacture beside a {9th Series} marking. Top of the receiver is struck with the standard Japanese kanji markings for Type 99 below a ground off Chrysanthemum. Serial numbers match on the receiver, bolt, cocking knob, and firing pin.
