13-Star Nautical Flag by Annin Flag Company
Mostly wool, 42 x 69 in., with 13 hand-sewn cotton "peekaboo" stars and anchor, ca 1849-1870 era. One brass grommet, the other probably lost and repaired with string, in cotton duck hoist. Stamped on hoist "Annin & Co. 99 & 101 Fulton St. N.Y." The company was at that location from 1847-1925.
