13-Star Nautical Flag by Annin Flag Company
Wool, primarily machine construction, approx. 57 x 91 in., with 13 hand-sewn cotton "peekaboo" stars and anchor, ca 1849-1870 era. Two brass grommets in cotton duck hoist. Stamped on hoist "Annin & Co. 99 & 101 Fulton St. N.Y." The company was at that location from 1847-1925.
A rare, early Nautical flag with only a handful existing to-date.
