Lot Description

Two gold mourning pins/pendants England or America, dated 1782 and 1785

Both of marquise form, the first, with raised enamel, gilt and paste swagged urn against a cobalt ground, the reverse with inscription, "Willm. Goddard/ Ob. 25. Mar. 1782/ AE . 82," fitted with pin and loop attachment; the second, with hairwork and seed pearl bound sheaf of wheat against ivory ground, beaded gold surround, the reverse with inscription, "FD/ died Nov. 19/ 1785/ Aged 86/ FD," fitted with pin and loop attachment, both seemingly unmarked.
