Lot Description

Chippendale carved walnut high chest carving: school of nicholas bernard (d. 1789), philadelphia, pa, circa 1765

Openwork cartouche flanked by urn and flame finials surmounting double scrolled and molded cresting, above arrangement of five small drawers, the centermost being carved with shell and leafage, and three graduated wide drawers, the base with one wide and three small drawers, the centermost mirroring the top carved drawer, all drawers lip molded, both upper and lower cases with quarter round fluted corners, carved apron on acanthus leaf carved cabriole legs with claw and ball feet.
