* Auto Ordnance US Army Commemorative 1911A1 in Case Issued by American Historical Foundation
.45 ACP. 5" barrel length. SN: AOA05773. Blued metal finish with gold small parts and polished walnut grips with United States Army medallions. Short-recoil operated single action autoloading pistol commemorating the foundation of the United States Army. The left slide features gold scrollwork enclosing a gold banner reading UNITED STATES ARMY/COMMEMORATIVE M1911A1 .45/"THIS WE'LL DEFEND" with the date of its foundation, 14 JUN 1775 engraved behind the cocking serrations. The right frame is marked with the issue number USA 0454 with standard maker markings applied elsewhere. Comes in a green velvet lined display case with a dedication plate reading THE/UNITED STATES ARMY/COMMEMORATIVE M1911A1 .45/LIMITED EDITION/ISSUED BY THE AMERICAN HISTORICAL FOUNDATION. The case features brass hinges and a brass lock plate. No key is present. Item comes with one magazine, an attached inspection tag, a further tag warning against cycling the action, and a factory test casing in a sealed package.
