* Colt Pacific Theater 1911A1 Pistol Commemorative in Box
.45 ACP. 5" barrel length. SN: FR15063. Blued metal finish, gold small parts, polished barrel, polished walnut grips with Marine Corps medallions. Short-recoil operated single action autoloading pistol commemorating the history of the Second Marine Division of the United States Marine Corps during World War II. The left slide has been engraved with oak leaf scroll enclosing SECOND MARINE DIVISION/1 FEBRUARY 1941/"SECOND TO NONE" with the {Seal of the USMC} engraved into the left slide behind the cocking serrations. The right slide is further engraved FIGHT WITH THE BEST DIE LIKE/THE REST. SPEER #2. Item features standard Colt Government model make and model markings elsewhere. Comes in a wood display case with pull out drawer with green velvet liner, spaces for seven cartridges, and a panel reading WORLD WAR II/COMMEMORATIVE/Asiatic-Pacific Theater/December 7, 1941-September 2, 1945. The exterior case lid is carved with bamboo motif, while the interior features a color photograph of the Signing of the Instrument of Surrender aboard USS Missouri labeled Tokyo Bay-Sept. 2, 1945 above a listing of some of the Second Marine Division's most important operations connected to WWII. Item comes with a single COLT marked magazine and no key.
