Front sight has been replaced with a German silver front blade, and the barrel has been cut down to the present length. The left frame shows the two-line patent dates reading PAT. SEPT. 19. 1871/PAT. JULY. 2. 1872, and the top of the barrel features the single line address marking with the first letter of COLT'S removed due to the mounting of the new front sight. Remaining address mark reads OLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. CO HARTFORD. CT. U.S.A. The left triggerguard shows a 45 CAL marking. Item mounts a bullseye pattern ejector rod head. Serial numbers match on the frame, gripstraps, barrel, and cylinder. The butt has been engraved with the initials O.A.B.
