The left frame shows the three-patent in three-line marking, and the left barrel has a weak 45 CAL marking with just the lower edges of the numbers still visible. The faint barrel address is in two lines and reads COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. CO/HARTFORD. CT. U.S.A. The hammer has a replaced firing pin that has been ground down to a fine point, and the hammer flanks polished down to make it fit.
