Single action percussion revolver with five-shot cylinder and an octagonal barrel. The barrel address reads in two bracketed lines ADDRESS SAML COLT/NEW YORK CITY. The left frame is marked COLTS/PATENT, and the cylinder is roll engraved with Ormsby's {Stagecoach Holdup} scene. Further inspection stamps include V and X to the left triggerguard, a 6 on the left edge of the barrel lug, and 3 behind the serial on the cylinder. The cylinder features safety pins between the chambers, and the serial numbers match on all principal components including the wedge pin. Traces of an illegible serial marking visible on the backstrap of the centerpiece on the wood grips.
