Single-action six-shot percussion revolver featuring Ormsby's {Naval Engagement} roll engraving on the cylinder. The barrel address is applied in a single line reading -ADDRESS COL. SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA-, with the left frame displaying the COLTS/PATENT marking. Caliber mark on the left triggerguard is legible and reads 36 CAL. Face of the recoil shield has been struck with R and P initials, with a further P appearing at the rear edge of the triggerguard. An H stamp appears on the underside of the barrel beneath the loading lever, and a further R initial is weakly struck in the front of the cylinder. The serial numbers match on the frame, gripstraps, arbor pin, cylinder, barrel, and on the wedge pin. Item shows a bright polish on the barrel in places indicating aggressive cleaning.
