Lot Description
THOMPSON, E.C., artist. Seated portrait of a gentleman with slightly untidy hair. (Heavy tarnishing to edges, spotting and other imperfections throughout; original seals.) Housed in a leatherette case with velvet pad stamped for E.C. Thompson's Gallery, Washington, DC (some splitting to spine, heavy surface wear). --Seated portrait of an identified older gentleman with his arms cross and a matter-of-fact expression on his face. (Significant tarnishing along edge, some spots and surface scratches throughout, no preserver present; resealed.) Housed in a fully separated leatherette case (split at spine, heavy surface wear). Affixed to satin pad is a piece of paper inscribed, in part, "John E[?] Hussey." -- Seated portrait of a thin man, his cheeks lightly tinted pink. (Heavy surface residue/spotting, heavy oxidation to mat and preserver; original seals.) Housed in a fully separated, mis-matched leatherette case (split at spine, surface wear, discoloration to satin pad, some pieces loose, front and back cover do not match). -- Together, 3 quarter plate daguerreotypes of gentlemen.
