Seated portrait of an older gentleman. (Tarnishing all along oval mat opening, spotting to mat, no preserver present; resealed.) Housed in a fully separated leatherette case with velvet pad marked with Marshall & Porter's 136 Chestnut St. address "Over Bailey & Co" (split at spine, significant exterior wear). The brass mat obscures a majority of the daguerreotype plate, having an approx. 1 5/8 x 1 1/4 in. oval opening to reveal the portrait.
