Lot Description
POLK, James K. (1795-1849). Document signed ("James K. Polk"), as Governor of Tennessee. Nashville, TN, 29 July 1840.
One page, 12 3/8 x 15 1/4 in. Creased, with some separations along creases and crease intersections, toning and some spotting throughout. Docketed and twice inscribed to verso.
Document granting a 50-acre parcel of land in Jackson County, situated on Blackburn's fork of Roaring River, to Jesse Key Kendall. The grant is pursuant to provisions of an act passed by the General Assembly of Tennessee on 9 January 1830, which, among other things, made acreage much more affordable.
