Lot Description
[NATIVE AMERICANS]. [ANDERSON, John A., photographer (1869-1948)]. Two photographs of Sioux Indians, incl. Two Strikes.
4 1/2 x 7 1/2 in. photographs mounted recto/verso on 6 5/8 x 9 3/4 in. disbound album page (occasional spotting to prints; some wear, light chipping, and staining to margins of album page). Each photograph titled, numbered, and credited to J.A. Anderson in the negative.
Titles include: No. 213. Two-Strike, Sioux Chief, dated 1896. A seated portrait of the famous Brule Lakota chief, a lieutenant of Spotted Tail. -- No. 500. Sioux Warrior. Although uncredited, the photograph was taken by Anderson.
