Lot 310
Lot Description
After four decades at Chanel, Lagerfeld earned a legacy as a creative force that reinvigorated the heritage label, infusing it with postmodern playfulness while honoring its roots. Equally versed in the languages of popular culture and the craft and traditions of couture, a combination described as ‘high fashion and high camp’, Lagerfeld’s reinvention of the brand and marketing savvy created a voracious appetite among young buyers, sealing the fate of the iconic double CC logo into this century’s visual lexicon.
White wool/silk and other fiber-blend boucle woven with a plaid pattern in gold, black, and silver yarns. The jacket is trimmed with a gold, silver, and black yarn design around the neck, sleeve hems, and pockets. The jacket is cut with a v-neckline, long sleeves, two pockets on the front, and closes down the center front with buttons. The buttons are made with open lines, through which the CC logo can be seen. The jacket is lined with white silk woven with CC logos, camellias, and the words "Chanel rue Cambon". The jacket is finished with a silver-tone chain sewn to the interior hem.
