Lot 297
Lot Description
After four decades at Chanel, Lagerfeld earned a legacy as a creative force that reinvigorated the heritage label, infusing it with postmodern playfulness while honoring its roots. Equally versed in the languages of popular culture and the craft and traditions of couture, a combination described as ‘high fashion and high camp’, Lagerfeld’s reinvention of the brand and marketing savvy created a voracious appetite among young buyers, sealing the fate of the iconic double CC logo into this century’s visual lexicon.
Tan wool fancy-weave cardigan-style jacket trimmed with black grossgrain ribbon and braid. The jacket is cut with a scoop neckline, set-in sleeves with functioning buttons at the hem, two pockets on the front, and a center front that hangs open with no closures. The jacket is lined with tan silk woven with the CC logo, flowers, and the words "Chanel rue Cambon".
