[BRYAN, William Jennings (1860-1925)]. A group of 12 buttons, incl. single and jugate campaign examples featuring Bryan with Sewall, Stevenson, and Kern.
6 jugate campaign buttons, measuring approx. 1 1/2 in. dia., or smaller, including: 3 cello buttons from the 1896 presidential election featuring bust portraits of William Jennings Bryan and his running mate Arthur Sewall, the largest including the candidates' portraits against an orange backdrop, headed "Victory 1896 / Bryan & Sewall," 1 1/2 in., a smaller example with the same header, and an example with header "Free Silver." -- 2 cello buttons from the 1900 presidential election featuring bust portraits of Bryan and his running mate Adlai Stevenson, one against a red, white, and blue patriotic backdrop, the other against a blue background highlighted with gold design. -- 1 cello button from the 1908 presidential election featuring bust portraits of Bryan with John W. Kern.
[With:] 6 campaign buttons featuring William Jennings Bryan, measuring 1 1/4 in. dia., or smaller, including: 1 cello button from 1900, showing Bryan seated in an ornate Victorian chair. -- 1 cello button from 1908 with slogan, "Facing the Future / Let the Majority Rule." -- 1 cello button from 1908 featuring a mature Bryan with the quote, "Let the People Rule." -- 3 cello buttons from 1908, each with Bryan's portrait against a colorful, patriotic background.
