[EARLY PHOTOGRAPHY]. A group of 8 daguerreotype, ambrotype, and tintype portraits highlighted by portrait of two women with a dog.
Sixth plate tintype portrait of two women, one holding on her lap a dog. (Notable blemish to upper right; unsealed.) Housed in a geometric Union case with a sixth plate ambrotype portrait of a young man wearing a printed vest and resting his hand on a book, posed against a painted backdrop. (Good contrast; unsealed.) -- Sixth plate ambrotype portrait of a woman wearing a large shawl and a cloth around her head, tied at her neck, and holding on her lap a child wearing a hat and holding a small violin or fiddle. (Minor blemishes to plate; unsealed.) Housed in a broken pressed paper case. -- Daguerreotype portrait of a man housed in a 1 1/4 in. diam. locket (front cover fully separated from rest of locket but present). -- And 4 others, including one sixth plate tintype, 2 ninth plate tintypes, and one ninth plate ambrotype, some without full cases. -- Together, 8 images, including a pair of ninth plate portraits of an identified couple.
