Sixth plate daguerreotype portrait of a gentleman. (Tarnishing to edges, spotting to plate; original seals.) Housd in a leatherette push-button case with advertising card for Dyer's Daguerreian Studio. -- Sixth plate ambrotype seated portrait of a gentleman wearing a double-breasted coat wth dark collar. (Some image loss to lower portion, spotting to mat and preserver; unsealed.) No case. Bright green advertising card for "Tulley's 1s. Portrait" behind image. -- Ninth plate ambrotype portrait of a gentleman wearing a checkered vest. (Some oxidation to mat and preserver; unsealed.) No case. Orange pictorial advertising card for Hazelton's Photograph & Ambrotype Gallery, Boston, behind image. -- And 6 others, including 4 ninth plate daguerreotypes and 2 ninth plate ambrotypes, most without cases. -- Together, 9 daguerreotype and ambrotype portraits with photographers' advertising cards.
[With:] A pair of clipped and mounted 20th century printed advertisements for Hollinger & Co., NY. "Daguerreotypes and other old pictures Reproduced and Englarged b a new method which preserves all the quaintness and charm of the original and adds the modern style of finish, thus producing wonderfully artistic and picturesque effects." Each 3 1/2 x 1 1/4 in., with chipping and loss to edges.
