Lot Description

[EARLY PHOTOGRAPHY]. A pair of cased portraits of toddlers, including portrait by Isaac REHN, PA.

Sixth plate ambrotype portrait of a young girl being held upright by her mostly unseen mother. [Philadelphia?], PA: Rehn, n.d. (Image with good clarity, rich tonality; original seals.) Housed in a fully separated leatherette case. Mat stamped for Rehn. Paper label loosely held in case identifies the image to "Mrs. Katharine L. Ingram, 650 Loraine Ave., Ardmore, PA," perhaps the child's mother. -- Quarter plate tintype portrait of a baby girl propped up on the arm of a chair by unseen person or object. (Image a bit dark, with some discoloration; unsealed.) Housed in a nearly fully separated pressed paper case. Pencil inscription in back of case reads, "Betsy Jane Coh[?], 1840." -- Together, 2 portraits of toddlers.
