[EARLY PHOTOGRAPHY]. A group of 12 daguerreotypes of men with facial hair or creatively coiffed hair, including portraits by ANSON and BRILL.
Sixth plate portrait of a man staring intensely into the camera, his long gray hair neatly coiffed and his facial hair combed. New York: Anson, n.d. (Spots of oxidation throughout plate, very light tarnishing to upper edge, spotting to mat; unsealed.) Housed in a pressed paper case (partial separation at spine). Mat and velvet pad marked for Anson. -- Sixth plate portrait of a man with long hair combed back, and a long and bushy beard, wearing some kind of robe. (Light tarnishing to edges, very minor spots and surface scratches.) Housed in a fully separated pressed paper case. -- And 10 others, including 9 sixth plate portraits and one ninth plate portrait, many without full cases. -- Together, 12 daguerreotypes of men with facial hair or interesting hairstyles.
