Lot Description

[ENTERTAINMENT]. A group of items associated with Hollywood and other movies, including signed photos of Roy Rogers and Dale Evans.


Two 8 x 10 in. photos of Roy Rogers and Dale Evans. One shows the pair on the seat of a stagecoach, signed “To Eddie / Trails of happiness / Roy Rogers ~ Trigger” and signed separately “Dale Evans Rogers.” Second shows the two standing, Dale dressed more like a showgirl than a cowgirl. 

[With:] 11 x 14 in. photograph of cowboy. Appears to be Tom Mix with TM logo in diamond on his sleeve.

[With:] French periodical, VU, 10-1/2 x 14 in.; VOGEL, Lucien, 15 July 1931, No. 174. A weekly illustrated/pictorial magazine published from 21 March 1928 to 29 May 1940. Center “article” and rear cover devoted to Mickey Mouse and his “father,” Walt Disney.

[With:] Gone with the Wind, “David O. Selznick’s production of Margaret Mitchell’s Story of the Old South.” Folio (9 x 12 in.), 20 pp. (including wraps). With scenes from the movie, lists of players, plus a few short comments on the production and a few of the main characters. 

[Also with:] Copy of a chain letter sent from Stig Arpi to Greta Garbo, with cover. This letter only promised good luck if one sent it on immediately. It did not ask for money or other inclusions with the letter. Others in the “chain” included Bernard Shaw, Henry Ford, Col. Lindbergh, John Barrymore. Cover postmarked 1930, with Argentinian stamp.
