Lot Description

Union Democratic Ticket. Hamilton County, Ohio: N.p., [1864]. 3 1/8 x 9 7/8 in. Democratic ticket featuring portrait of McClellan in uniform, flanked by flags. -- The Modern Belisarius. N.p, n.d. 8 1/2 x 10 7/8 in. engraving (uneven inking). Caption reads: "After the First Battle of Bull Run, I Re-organized your shattered forces; after the second, I saved your menaced Capitol: I sit by the wayside waiting for Justice from the People. Shall I have it?" -- General McClellan's Letter of Acceptance, Together with His West-Point Oration. New York: E.P. Patten, 1864. RARE: No copies have sold at auction since 1929.
