The design for this ready-to-wear suit comes from Dior’s Autumn/Winter 1997/98 haute couture collection, which was Galliano's second collection for the House of Dior. The suit takes inspiration from Christian Dior’s ‘New Look’ of 1947, with padding sewn into the lining at the hips to accentuate the figure, creating the illusion of a narrower waist in a structured silhouette.
