Deconstruction is a theme often present in Galliano’s work. For Dior Spring/Summer 2006 (pink denim pant ensemble), Galliano presented a ready-to-wear collection continuing the theme of the previous year’s haute couture, which focused on revealing the underpinnings and internal structures of clothing. He transformed construction into ornament, by creating dresses resembling muslin bodices. With these creations, Galliano nods to the foundations of the house of Dior in a wearable, daring revision.
