refinished, having a polished or waxed surface; the drawer bottom appears to be chestnut, which has been lightly stained; the top is three board (which has been reinforced with glue), and the flip top is four board, the flip top with a couple knots which have been filled; the top with pins evident; the back legs with spliced wood repairs along upper sides, possibly repairing former losses; the legs with some occasional scuffing and abrasions along edges, the lower part of legs and feet with some water staining or fading; the drawer bottom with a patch along left-facing side; drawer face with patches along right-facing corners; the brasses are later replacements; the right-facing side bracket with slight loss to upper terminal; block feet with general wear
