We asked Helen to choose her favorites from our upcoming August 29 auctions: Luxury Accessories and Couture and Fall Fashion and Accessories.
Lot 3 Sale 606: This is such a collectible and beautiful piece. You can use it as artistic furniture, but it is also functional as a travel trunk. That’s a great combination.
Lot 19 Sale 622: We live in Chicago, so you need fur. And why not a beautiful one? I’d put a turtle neck under this, a white button down or a plain sweater, pair it with denim and you are set.
Lot 144 Sale 606: I love this red dress. It’s minimal yet structured, and that plays into the whole art-vibe this fall. We’re also seeing a lot of poppy colors right now: cobalt blues, reds and oranges.
Lot 79 Sale 622: The 70s in fashion will always be around. Its influence will stay for a long time, and these sunglasses are a great example of vintage with that retro feel.
Lot 69 Sale 606: It is so unique and reminds me of the glass slipper. Lucite is the number one trend going into fall.
Lot 177, Lot 162 and Lot 163 Sale 622: Again, back to Lucite, it’s a trend that pops up from time to time. This jewelry has a kind of Palm Springs Art Deco feel. I would display these bracelets with the Lucite bag in my closet!
