fourth quarter 19th century


thread-sewn and quilled using colors of red and purple; quilled rawhide slat tab is finished with braided hide fringe; remnants of red wool

length 13-1/5 inches

With collection note:
Collected by Lt. Gordon Vorhees, US Army.  Vorhees graduated from West Point in 1891.  He commanded a detachment of Indian Scouts at Ft. Buford, North Dakota.
