Lot Description
Louis Vuitton Men's Suit Trunk, Mid 20th Century
This men's travel trunk was once owned by Dimitri M. Yassukovich, a retired partner in the investment banking concern of White, Weld & Company. He was born in Russia and came to the United States in 1918 and in 1920 he joined the brokerage firm of Prince & Whitely and in 1930 he joined White, Weld and became a partner in 1937. He retired in 1963 but remained active in investment banking for many years. His life is chronicled in a book written by his son, Stanislas M. Yassukovich, titled, "Two Lives: A Social and Financial Memoir".
Louis Vuitton Monogram hard-sided trunk closet with top lid and side opening, wooden hangers on rail, two hard case boxes on facing lid, top and side flat stitched leather handles, and brass lock plate with latch closures. "DY" painted on the top lid in yellow.
