Lot Description
[EARLY PHOTOGRAPHY - UNION CASES]. A group of 3 unusual oval or circular cases containing images, including:
A Very Very Rare celluloid with silver crest case, Oval with Crest, [Berg 6-333] (some loss to case inlay, few chips to edges, and surface scratches throughout, missing closure clasp) containing a daguerreotype with image no longer visible; a Very Very rare "oreo" case with velvet and metal disc applied to lid [3-548a variant] (chips to edges, wear to velvet) containing a tintype portrait of a lovely young lady with cheeks lightly tinted pink; and a push-button circular leather case, not found in Berg, containing a daguerreotype portrait of a handsome young man wearing a striped necktie (case with some surface imperfections).
