Lot Description
[HISTORIC PHOTOGRAPHY - PORTRAITURE]. A stereodaguerreotype of a young girl housed in a Mascher case.
Stereodaguerreotype comprised of two sixth plate daguerreotypes featuring the same lovely young girl wearing an off-the-shoulder dress and looking into the camera. (Tarnishing to right portion of right image and lightly around subject in both images, spotting throughout images and to mat.) Housed in a full leatherette Mascher case (wear to edges and corners). Subject identified in ink on paper label adhered behind Mascher lens flap, "Mary G. Hutch."
[With:] Quarter plate daguerreotype seated portrait of a beautiful young woman positioned off-center, with what appears to be some kind of furniture or fur behind her. (Tarnishing to edges, with spotting and some clouding throughout.) Housed in a figural union case, Alone at the Rendezvous [Berg 1-35] (chipping with loss to two corners, soiling to surface, sticking closure).
