[DAKOTA]. A group of 2 photographs highlighted by view of Harney's Peak in the Black Hills by H.R. Locke & Co., 1890. 


LOCKE & CO., Henry Robinson, photographer. Harney’s Peak. 8200 feet, highest point in the Black Hills. Deadwood, SD: 1890. 9 x 7 1/4 in. silver print mounted on 10 x 8 in. board (light staining to top margin of print and top and bottom margins of mount, some corner and edge wear to mount). “H.R. Locke & Co., Deadwood, S.D.” printed at bottom. Image No. 42, with remainder of text inset on image “near Custer and Hill City on the B & M. railway. Photo by Locke & McBride Deadwood and Lead, S. D.” Harney’s is now known as Black Elk Peak. Mautz. pg 190.
