Lot Description
[MCKINLEY, William (1843-1901).] A group of 2 items, incl. presidential campaign mechanical medal and inaugural program.
Mechanical medal, 1-1/2" in diameter. On front, when loop is to the left, medal reads: "Free Silver means a Dollar Worth 50 cents. Bryanarchy and Stevenson." When it is moved to the right, "Gold Standard means a Dollar worth 100 cents. Mack, Teddy and Prosperity." On verso is an eagle, patent information. With loop to the right, at top "Where am I at?" Eagle's head is down to the side. When moved to the left: "I'm all right." Eagle's head is on top.
Program for Inaugural ball, March 4th, 1897. Obl. approx. 7 x 10 in. Tied with gold ribbon at spine. (coming out). Two cardstock pages, one with the President and Vice President, the other with the Executive Committee (for the Ball). Original cover present, but it has a lot of chipping and scuffing. (not addressed to anyone, that would have been an outer cover)
