Lot Description

[ELECTIONS]. A group of ballots from 1884 and 1888, including scarce third party examples, comprising: 


Sample Democratic Ticket printed on red satin ribbon, 3 x 9 in. Presidential nominee is Grover Cleveland. National Ticket on paper, with Benjamin Butler for President. Butler ran a third-party Anti-Monopoly campaign in 1884.

National Democratic Ticket, Seymour and Blair. Approx. 2-1/2 x 4 in. 1868 and still running on preservation of the Union.

Prohibition Ticket for 1884, St. John & Daniel. For Governor, Larkin Mason. 3-1/2 x 5-3/4 in.

Republican Ticket for 1884, Blaine and Logan. William Calkins was running for Governor, so this ticket was for Indiana. Democratic Ticket for Cleveland and Hendricks. the gubernatorial candidate was Isaac Gray, so this ticket is also from Indiana.

Two Republican tickets for the sixth Congressional district of Maryland, with candidates Harrison and Morton (1888). One has a waving flag vignette, the other a Public school house. 3 x 8 in. And a Republican Ticket from Indiana with Alvin Hovey as the candidate for Governor. Approx. 3 x 11 in.

1888 Democratic Ticket for Hew Hampshire, Cleveland and Thurman as the candidates. Charles H. Amsden was the gubernatorial candidate. 3-1/2 x 8-1/2 in. And an 1888  Democratic Ticket  for Virginia, with John A. Buchanan as the 9th district Congressional candidate. 3 x 55-1/4 in.
