The American cdvs include: Thomas Hendricks (1819-1885, Vice President 1885); Washington’s tomb; Washington’s portrait’ Washington crossing the Delaware; Washington on a white horse; Horace Greeley (1811-1872); George Peabody (1795-1869); Elihu Burritt (1810-1875, social activist); [Alexander von] Humboldt (1769-1859, naturalist and explorer); Martha Washington; Daniel Webster; President James A. Garfield (1831-1881, President 1881) (4 different); Lucretia Garfield (2 different); James G. Blaine (1830-1893, Speaker of House, Secretary of State); President Grover Cleveland (1837-1908, President 1885-1889, 1893-1897) (on chewing tobacco advert. card); John Tyler (1790-1862, President 1841-1845); Charlotte Cushman (1816-1876, actress) (rare); Ashland – Homestead of Henry Clay; collage of 500 personages.
The cabinet cards are William Jennings Bryan (1860-1925) and his family (spouse Mary, children Ruth William and Grace), best remembered for his anti-evolution stance in the Scopes trial; and Presidents of the United States, Washington to Andrew Johnson.
The European cdvs include: Napoleon (color); Louis Napoleon; HRH Prince of Wales (one with color highlights, one without); Prince of Wales and Family (2); one identified only as “British Royal Family;” Victor Emanuel; General Garabaldi; William I, King of Prussia; and Empress of Brazil.
